Successfull Events in the Fall of 2021

With several major events in the fall of 2021, Stuttgart has demonstrated how even large events can be implemented safely in times of a pandemic.

73rd Annual Meeting of the German Society for Urology

At long last an in-person congress again - with one of these events being hosted in Stuttgart: the congress of the German Society of Urology (DGU). Its 73rd annual meeting at the International Congress Center Stuttgart (ICS) was a joyful occasion with everyone glad to be back. Lots of positive energy for Baden-Württemberg's state capital from 15th–18th September 2021. Being the first in-person event at the ICS since the start of the pandemic, and the biggest physical medicine congress in Germany in 2021, are just two of the three coups landed by this congress. With 4,600 registered participants from Germany and abroad, it is also the largest in-person congress for urology in 2021 – worldwide.

30th Meeting of the German Transplantation Society

After a long lapse because of the pandemic, the 30th Annual Meeting of the DTG (German Transplantation Society) was held as an in-person event from 7th to 9th October 2021 at the Convention & Event Center Filderhalle in Leinfelden-Echterdingen. It had already been necessary to stage it as a hybrid event in 2020. Each year, a different destination hosts the conference. "For 2021 we made a quick decision in favour of the hybrid event format in order to guarantee a maximum of flexibility in these uncertain times for events," reports Christina Norkus, project manager of the Dresden K.I.T. Group.

Trade Fair Grounds Completely Booked Out

Over a thousand exhibitors attending Blechexpo, Schweisstec and In.Stand, the three trade fairs that run parallel, meant a full house for Messe Stuttgart at the end of October 2021 for the first time since the pandemic started. After successfully reopening for trade fair business in September, this represents yet another step back to normality. “That our business operations have returned to full capacity after a year and a half of lockdown is a milestone that we have long been waiting for. The joy and relief is palpable, not only among the organisers but the exhibitors and visitors too,” says Stefan Lohnert, President of Messe Stuttgart.
